Summer Camp 2019 Parent Immersion 

 

On July 1, 2019, Sipnayan had its Summer Camp Parent Literacy Activity through Parent Immersion.

 

Sipnayan started the activity with a Parent Literacy meeting which included Policy Updates, information about NC Standard Course of Study for the next school year, tips on effective collaboration with regular school teacher and online resource (Khan Academy) to keep up and help with their children's academics.

 

The parent literacy meeting was followed by Parent Immersion in summer camp classrooms. Sipnayan staff prepared lessons which included the parents as "students" of the camp. The parents learned and worked with their children as "partners" in the classroom. The classes included STEM, Math, ELA and Indoor Hockey for Sports.

Sipnayan concluded the activity by reconvening the parents to receive feedback about the activity.
